There are a lot of DIY projects out there that come across to be ultra cool but in reality they are not cool at all. A lot of the times, the reasons the projects look so cool is because there is a great photographer is taking an awesome picture of a not so cool idea. But, once in a while a fabulous idea is born. Not only is the idea fabulous but it will translate very well when the non-crafty person attempts it at home. This is exactly the case with the DIY Christian Louboutin sandals by Love Meagan. I am not going to tell you if the picture above is the Louboutin or Meagan's recreation!
Chocolate is and always has been popular, however. I think chocolate has gone to Dr. Troy and Dr. McNamara and gotten a little Nip / Tuck, or at least hired a new publicist because it has been popping up all over the place and in new and sophisticated ways. For instance, chocolate was recently featured on My Fair Wedding when David Tutera brought a bride to a lesson in pairing wine and chocolate.
And just today, I received an email about exotic chocolate tasting and just fell in love with the idea of incorporating this during a dinner party. Through a guided tasting, Exotic Chocolate Tasting will combine the pleasure and fine nuances of chocolate in a fun, delicious and unique experience for you and your corporate or private guests. Similar to a fine wine tasting, you will discover exceptional artisan chocolates from around the world all in the comfort of your home or your own venue!
If you live in NYC, your in luck because Exotic Chocolate Tasting just so happens to be located there! The rest of us will have to be on the look out for a company in our neighborhood. Just make sure they are not sampling Hershey's :-)

In honor of Saint Patrick’s Day, which is quietly approaching, March's signature drink celebrates a non-beer related recipe. Introducing the Korbel Irish Kiss Cocktail!
4 oz Korbel California Brut Champagne
1 oz. Midori Melon Liqueur
Serve in a green sugar-rimmed champagne flute
Mix the champagne and Midori together and pour (pretty simple!)
To make sugar rim: add 2 drops of green food coloring to 1/2 cup sugar
Rub glass rim with lime and dip in green sugar mixture
Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!!
Back in December, Kalpana contacted Lauren Daversa Events to help with her November 2010 wedding. I need to forewarn you now, this is going to be one A-MAZ-ING wedding, or should I say weddings...Kalpana is hosting not one but TWO weddings!!! The first will be a Hindu ceremony followed by a Jewish ceremony later on in the evening.
Just a few weeks ago, Kalpana emailed me a few pictures from her recent engagement session with photographer Miguel Irias and I was literally blown away by the beauty of the moments he captured between Kalpana and her fiancé Paul. What a stunning couple! Young, gorgeous and in love. So until November...
So, this past Saturday my entire fabulous family got together with (take a wild guess) ... Jessica Lorren for a fun family portrait session. Honestly, it was a great morning. We are a very close family. We like to laugh and really enjoy life together. What's so awesome is now we have something tangible for us to forever remember the truly blessed moments we share together. All thanks to Jessica!
Apparently, Fly Me To The Moon will be more than a great song in the year 2012 when, according to CNN, a Galactic Suite will be unveiled. This will be the first hotel planned in space and would allow guests to travel around the world in 80 minutes. The Galactic Suite's Barcelona-based architects say the space hotel will be the most expensive in the galaxy, costing a mere $4 million for a three-day stay.
What could be more out of the world than a suite in outer space? How about the fact that more than 200 people have expressed an interest in travelling to the space hotel and at least 43 people have already reserved. WOW! Maybe one of my future clients is one of those 200 people, and they plan on making Lauren Daversa Events the first event planner in space who will plan the biggest party on this side of the galaxy!!! If so, I am bringing my mustache!
