Edible Sugar Diamonds

Diamonds are forever, unless they are edible and placed on a piece of cake. In that case, it's anybody's guess how long they'll last. That's right, the next way to bedazzle a cake is by snazzing it up with cake jewels. Completely edible little bites of diamonds. I love it!

This gorgeous Tiffany cake designed by, Janet Mohapi-Banks, is inspired by the Tiffany lamp design and features these awesome edible diamonds!

Think it's too much for your wedding cake...well, there are a ton of ways to utilize these sugar monsters: on top of bridal shower cupcakes, bachelorette cupcakes, use as decoration on the table for a dinner party -Sex and the City is coming up! Visit, Diamond Party Confetti to pick yours up. They are not cheapest decor pieces on the market but they are certainly not as expensive as these bad boys!

Inspirational Chandeliers

I am not sure what is going on but I am on a lighting kick today. In the past, I've written about how amazing Twitter is. Recently, I've chatted with Chandeliera who owns a website that showcases a stunning range of chandeliers to exquisitely illuminate and luxuriously decorate your home. Or in my case, events! Chandeliera has handpicked a gorgeous selection of chandeliers available online from quality retail outlets. They also have an inspiration gallery if you need some ideas. It's a great source of different chandeliers and interior creations. So check them out!

Vera Wang Lavender Label

Need a pretty dress for an event? Chick Downtown will always be there for you. I found this beautiful asymmetrical strapless Vera Wang gown, part of her Lavender Label on sale for $476. The gown is described as ultimate sophistication and I pretty much agree. The asymmetrically draped mermaid gown enchants in a quietly stunning shade of silvery stone, with boned bodice for support and sleek, smooth lines. It is silk with 7% spandex and reduced from $680. This is a beautiful gown, and would flatter many figures. Definitely a piece I'd put in my closet.

World’s Most Expensive Suit

I came across Born Rich for the first time today when I was researching some ideas to decorate a pool for an upcoming event. Very cool blog with a lot of cha-ching stuff. For instance, I fell in love with these designer pool lamps they posted. They are rechargeable lamps, constructed of waterproof polyethylene, which means no chance of receiving an electric-shock! Priced at $450, they are not for the budget friendly, however they are tres chic and would certainly make any event swank!

Then there was this suit, apparently the world's most expensive suit. Designed by Alexander Amosu and costing £70,000 or $101,860!!! So what makes a suit cost $101, 860? Well, it is its rich make and the number of hours it took to give shape to this formal garment. The one-off creation has taken in excess of 80 hours to complete and is made from vicuña, a rare wild South American animal related to the camel which only produces enough wool for shearing every three years, qiviuk, the world’s most expensive wool, gathered from the Arctic muskox. When blended with pashmina from the high mountain plateaus of the Himalayas they create Vanquish II, one of the world’s most luxurious cloths. The suit features over 5,000 individual stitches equating to £14 (approx. $20) per stitch. And no price for guessing that the suit features diamonds to justify its six-figure price tag. The suit features nine 18-carat gold and pave set diamond buttons to make it worth every penny. The most expensive suit went on sale in London and was sold to a mystery buyer for the mentioned $101,860 price tag.

Adorn Brides

Champagne taste and beer bottle pockets? Adorn Brides can help, at least for the evening. Shop, rent, wear and return. It's that simple to have beautiful jewelry to wear on your wedding day, or any special event. I like the Beckford Necklace, a beautiful sapphire and diamond necklace in white gold.  Simply lovely.  Easy to wear, yet so hard to return!

L | D Finds : Ella Scott Jewels

Twitter just becomes more and more awesome by the day! It is a portal to all the talented people out there. Today, Twitter helped me to cross paths with Ella Scott Jewels, who messaged me about her Etsy shop. Because I love finding new things, of course I checked out her jewelry. Well, I am glad I did...it's fabulous and affordable! There were beautiful bracelets, necklaces, earrings, bouquet crystals, jeweled hair pins. Everything.

As I was checking out her store, my mind was racing with uses for all of her pieces. Give me one of each please. I guess I should have prefaced this by confessing that I don't really need an excuse to shop. It's true, I am a shopaholic. If I like, than I will probably buy it. This urge has slowed down since the birth of my daughter but if you need justification to spend your money, Ella Scott Jewels are perfect gifts for bridesmaids, a "just because" gift for a friend / wife / mother / daughter / yourself, birthday gift, mother's day, to adorn your bouquets, and on and on and on!

I'm born and raised in New York City but I currently live in Jupiter, which is a small town on the east coast of Florida. For me, it's been an adjustment moving to Florida. Don't get me wrong, I'm not out in the boondocks but I certainly don't have the world at my fingertips anymore. With that being said, Etsy is like the next best thing to living in the city. Instead of walking around the village, now I search stores on Etsy. Nowhere is like NY, but it's like the next best thing. I encourage everyone to visit Etsy, you will be glad you did!

Beautiful Things

The world is filled with pretty little things; it's actually overflowing with them. Since Valentine's Day is right around the corner, I'm posting some of the P.L.T. I've seen lately. Such as, this red rose ring by designer Daniela Swaebe. What fun!
Maybe you yearn for something a little less flashy. Okay, check out Ippolita's 18K gold Art Link Necklace. Perfect for both thee office or a night out.
Something for the ears? Bridget Lynne's Double Aspen Leaf earrings are two real aspen leaves dipped in 24K gold, with a 14K gold filled chain dangling beside. This is four inches of fabulous! The Lemon Quartz Briolettes would be a nice selection as a bridesmaid gift!

Fashion and special events go hand in hand. Honestly, when is there a better time to bust out all your gorgeous jewelry, slamming shoes and couture clothing than for a special event? It absolutely goes without saying that any of the items spotlighted in this post would make a statement at your event. A few of the pieces on this page are on the extravagant side. At least for me they would be extravagant purchases. Hey, if you can afford 'em, go for it. After you buy them, just call me to help plan your next soiree! But great deals do exist for great jewelry!!!! I happened to find all the items listed above just by surfing the web. So take ten minutes and search the Internet. It's worth it! You'll be able to find beautiful, affordable and unique jewelry to wear to your next event or to your own wedding. Happy hunting!
